Global Education Program

Developing young leaders

Each year we host a residency in Kenya with senior school students from around Australia and the world who are recognised as future leaders. Selected students experience development work firsthand alongside local leaders in a variety of settings including schools, health clinics, athletic centres, The United Nations, Australian High Commission and local communities.

 

 

Program Objectives

1

Engage with issues of injustice, especially poverty, both in country of origin and overseas

2

Develop leadership skills and cross cultural understanding

3

Form meaningful relationships with peers and like minded individuals, groups and organisations

4

Reflect on a range of responses to the challenges facing our global community 

5

Explore effective strategies for personal contribution so others may flourish. 

2020 Program Dates

Mar 1, 2019 – Nominations /Applications open

July 20, 2019 – Applications close

August, 2019 – Selection

Sept – Dec, 2019 – Program orientation 

Jan 5 -18, 2020 – Residency in Kenya

 

Cost

Australian students: $4,500 

Cost includes program orientation / preparation, overseas residency – flights, accommodation, transfers, insurance and activities. 

International students: $2,500 AUD

Please note: International students will be responsible for arranging flights and insurance for the residency.
