We are pleased to have a strategic partnership 12 Buckets Inc. a West Australian based charity to impact and improve the lives of children in Western Australia. 12 Buckets is an award-winning strengths based mentoring program that equips at risk and disadvantaged children with the practical skills, support and connections needed to build a strong future.
The program focuses on 12 areas deemed important for overall well-being and sense of place within community.
These 12 areas have been grouped under the four categories of responsibility, community, mastery and generosity. These categories have been adapted from The Circle of Courage®, which is a model of positive youth development first described in the book Reclaiming Youth at Risk.
The bucket image remains the key element that shapes the 12 Buckets program and it represents the underlying philosophy that fullness in life comes when you pour yourself out for others.
Each journey board we build with you and the student will emphasise one of the buckets from each of the four categories.
How it works?
12 Buckets is a tailored one-to-one mentoring program that runs in primary schools, where children are matched with a volunteer mentor for one hour per week.
Together they create modules based around the 12 Buckets.
When does is Run?
The program runs during the school term one day per week throughout the year.
Children and their mentors on average do 40 sessions per year.
Who funds it?
The program is made possible through the generosity of local donors, churches and businesses.
This ensures local contribution, commitment and program sustainability.
