12 Buckets Mentoring
We are pleased to have a strategic partnership with 12 Buckets Inc. to impact and improve the lives of children in Western Australia. 12 Buckets offers an award-winning strengths-based program that equips at-risk and disadvantaged school students with the practical skills, support and connections needed to build a strong future.
The 12 Buckets
The 12 Buckets program is delivered to local Perth children who are in need of mentoring. They are recommended to the program by their school and it focuses on 12 areas deemed important for overall wellbeing and sense of place within community.
These 12 areas have been grouped under the four categories of responsibility, community, mastery, and generosity. These categories have been adapted from The Circle of Courage®, which is a model of positive youth development first described in the book Reclaiming Youth at Risk, co-authored by Larry Brendtro, Martin Brokenleg, and Steve Van Bockern.
The bucket image remains the key element that shapes the 12 Buckets program and it represents the underlying philosophy that fullness in life comes when you pour yourself out for others.
